Accreditation for ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety Management System)

UKAIB accredits Certification Bodies for compliance against ISO 22000 through verification of their existing ISO 17021 system. The accreditation is done against Scheme No- 22118.

ISO 22000 Accreditation for a Certification body (CBs) helps them to audit and provide accreditated Certification to their Clients.

ISO 22000 is a set of guidelines and regulations that help businesses to set out and manage a Food Safety Management System (FSMS). ISO 22000 will help them to identify, monitor, reduce and prevent food safety at any stage of the food chain from producer to consumer, and helps you reduce food hazards, control the risks and prevent contamination. The standard integrates the principles of a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system developed by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

ISO 22000 requirements cover-up all the risks involved in the contamination that can lead to contamination of food included in food manufacturing, production, storage, and distribution or the production of packaging and packaging material. A Certification Body applying for ISO 22000 accreditation must conform to ISO/IEC 17021 and other additional International requirements as detailed in Specific Requirements for Accreditation for FSMS Scheme.
